REGISTRATION EXTERNAL EVALUATORS OF THE XII INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY STUDENTS

The collaboration of external reviewers in the evaluation of the communications received is essential to guarantee the scientific quality of this congress.
What does it mean to be an external evaluator?
  • Participation as a reviewer implies a commitment to carry out the evaluations in an impartial, rigorous and punctual manner.
  • Once the communications have been assigned to the reviewers, they will have a maximum time of 1 week for their evaluation.
  • The external review will be carried out under conditions of double-blind anonymity and will be evaluated independently by at least two people, intervening a third (member of the scientific committee) when there is discrepancy.
  • In case of receiving any communication in which there is any type of conflict of interest that may influence the evaluation, the Scientific Committee will be immediately informed.
  • The evaluation will be carried out online through a form that the reviewers can access through an access link that they will receive by email.
  • The work of the external evaluators will be recognized with the delivery of a personal certificate of collaboration, in addition to the publication of their names in the book that will be published later with all the congress communications.
Who can participate as an external evaluator?
Any professional who meets at least one of the following requirements:

  • Have more than 5 years of professional experience as an occupational therapist.
    Be doctor.
  • Have at least one publication in journals indexed in the Journal Citation Index (JRC)
  • Have a project with financing.
What are the evaluation criteria that you will have to manage?
In the evaluation of the works, it must be taken into account that, in this congress, scientific communications that present the results of research studies, new methodological developments or the results of innovative experiences (new programs, interventions, approaches to a problem, etc.) are accepted in any of the thematic areas of occupational therapy.

Due to the aforementioned, the evaluators must take into account the following criteria for the evaluation of papers presented at this congress:

All abstracts received for presentation as oral communications or posters will be evaluated by two independent evaluators and the Scientific Committee anonymously, without knowing the name of the authors of the work and institutions to which they belong, according to the following criteria:

*Guidance for Relevance Assessment:
A work is relevant if the investigated topic is related to a current problem and the results given in the resolution contribute something to the field of Occupational Therapy and, if possible, to society. A job will be considered relevant if:
  • Contribute important ideas.
  • Generates theories that allow the creation of new hypotheses.
  • The results are applicable beyond the scope of the study itself.
  • The conclusions are important and suggest social and/or scientific benefits.
  • The occupational therapy practice experience presented has appreciable implications for professional development.
**Guide for the evaluation of innovation:
A work is innovative if it is a subject or methodology, or in approach or scenario, among others, it is innovative in some aspect to what has been investigated and published in this regard. A work will be considered innovative if:
  • Provides new knowledge.
  • Some aspect of the study is novel or brings a new point of view to what already exists.
  • Repetition of the study may be justified for any reason.
  • It is an update of old studies.
  • Presents an innovative occupational therapy practice experience.

From 22/04/2024 to 28/04/2024 the resolutions of the evaluations of oral and poster type communications will be communicated.
